Dr. Abdulkareem Yaseen participated as a panelist in a Webinar organised by The Nahrein Network of University College London. The objective of the webinar was to assist aspiring researchers, specialists, and students in securing research grants in the UK. It comprehensively covered the steps and requirements for grant applications, shedding light on the privileges offered by the Visiting Scholarship program. The eligibility criteria and pertinent details were also discussed.

To enrich the experience for applicants, success stories were shared. The webinar actively engaged participants by addressing their questions and inquiries related to the grant application process. Notably, a diverse audience from various institutions and universities in Iraq attended the webinar.

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural Heritage Photo Competition, dedicated to celebrating the beauty and significance of Iraqi cultural heritage through the captivating art of photography. As guardians of history, we believe that preserving our cultural roots is essential for future generations.

Guidelines:
Open to amateur and professional photographers in Iraq.
Each participant can submit up to three high-resolution
Photos must showcase aspects of cultural heritage, such as historical sites, traditional crafts, festivals, or intangible cultural practices.
Submissions should be original work, and participants must own the copyright.

Prizes:
1st Place: 150.000 Iraqi Dinar
2nd Place: 100.000 Iraqi Dinar

Preserve, Capture, and Share the Legacy!

Al-Rewaq Foundation for Culture and Development, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), recently organized a three-day workshop aimed at empowering freshly graduated females in developing their online freelancing skills. The workshop, held at the Al-Anbar Vocational Centre from June 20th to June 23rd, 2023, provided the participants with essential knowledge and expertise to excel in online work and generate an extra income to support their families.

Led by Dr. Alaa Al-Halbosy, the Al-Anbar Team Leader, the workshop was designed to equip the trainees with the necessary skills and tools to thrive in the digital marketplace. Throughout the workshop, the participants received comprehensive training on various aspects of online freelancing, including understanding freelancing platforms, effective client communication, project management, and financial aspects of freelancing.

The workshop at Al-Anbar Vocational Centre witnessed active participation from enthusiastic and motivated fresh graduates. The participants expressed their gratitude to Al-Rewaq Foundation and the World Food Programme for providing them with this invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills and gain insights into the world of online freelancing.

By focusing on developing online freelancing skills, Al-Rewaq Foundation aims to empower these young women to navigate the evolving job market and contribute to the economic growth of their families and communities. The foundation recognizes the transformative potential of online work and its ability to provide flexible employment opportunities, particularly in the digital age.

The collaboration between Al-Rewaq Foundation and the World Food Programme demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting the socio-economic development of communities by fostering skills and knowledge among youth, particularly fresh female graduates.

Al-Rewaq Foundation participated in the job fair held by the World Food Organization of the United Nations  at the Shohadaa Hall of the University of Anbar where the Foundation contributed to the organizational effort through simultaneous translation, in addition to directing advice to graduates in order to contribute in raising their awareness of the Iraqi labor market.  The Foundation interviewed several graduates and offered them its voluntary services to contribute in raising the level of their CVs professionally and involving them in its future projects.

Dr. Abdulkareem Yaseen, a member of the project's team, has won a BISI-Nahrein Visiting Iraqi Scholarship to study Christians' intangible heritage in Mosul. He is set to start his project soon at the university of Leicester where he intends to investigate the state-of-affairs of the heritage practices of one of Iraq's distinctive minorities following unprecedented events that devastated several communities of the country.
